Look, Ma, No Lungi

The New York Times has an article about the film Krrish, a film that showcases Bollywood’s first fully realized Superman-style hero। "Krrish" is a sequel to the 2003 blockbuster "Koi … Mil Gaya" ("I Found Someone"), which was considered Hindi cinema’s first major science fiction film. In it, an E.T.-like alien descends to Earth and is befriended by Rohit, a good-hearted young man who’s not very bright. The alien waves a finger. Miraculously, the slow, stuttering, myopic Rohit is transformed into a hero who can dance, woo the beauteous heroine and defeat the bad guys. "Krrish" is the story of Rohit’s son, Krishna, born with the superpowers the alien bestowed upon his father, and then some. Unlike Rohit, Krishna is superintelligent and has a handy sixth sense. He has great physical strength and is able to leap, like Spider-Man but sans web, among the trees. After his parents are killed, Krishna is raised in an isolated village by his g...

Investors Flock to Indian Stocks

MUMBAI – India may lag behind China economically, but the reverse holds true for their stock markets. India’s has soared to a record high this week, driven by foreign investors pouring billions into the market. Figures show the stock market here is up 200 percent over the past five years, compared with 65 percent in China and 11 percent in the US. India’s edge, experts say, lies in the contrast between its large contingent of private, profitable firms that operatefree of substantial government involvement, and the many listed Chinese companies over which Chineseauthorities exert considerable control. लगे रहो इंडिया

nokia 8800

NOKIA 8800 its still an unofficial detail abt this model frm nokia...so keep waiting for details abt it... Nokia can position this thing as a lower-end sibling to the 8800 if they so choose, but we've gotta be honest, this thing is shaping up nicely -- as in, "we'd rather have this one" nicely. These here are the first live shots we've spied of the rumored 8600 "Luna," a slider with a trick translucent cover and a shape that roughly mimics the older (and allegedly more expensive) 8800. The site dubs the phone the Nokia High Fashion because it's "so new it doesn't even have a model number." Sure, whatevs. At least they know that it's "coming soon" with an "on-screen menu system," 2 megapixel camera for photos and video, MP3 player, and 1GB of built-in memory. It's also likely to be sporting Series 40 under that sliding, semi-transparent hood. Nice.

LG 's new Z1Pro laptop has been designed with Vista's Sideshow in mind. The shiny black portable boasts a 2.5-inch display on the top cover, complete with touch-sensitive buttons à la , rather like the Korean company's Chocolate cellphone from last year. This means you can get music playback, photo slideshows, email, calendars, world clocks, stock quotes, RSS feeds, etc. without draining the battery. Price in Singapore dollars is $2999 ($1970 US)
